Blockchain will be a mega-disruptor soon

100% Agree. Tax, recruitment, identity, pay, any regulatory compliance, safety verification, workforce data, etc - all up for grabs. Recruitment is going to change from "look for you and verify you" to "already know you and we will convince you to join our Company. Jobs will be looking for people not the other way around. The candidate experience becomes crucial. EG: I was talking to a search firm who said they hated CHRO assignments because it meant rejecting 10+ senior HR people in the market - Deadly!

What we will see:-

PROCUREMENT: Who bought what, when, how much and where exactly is it now.

PROVENANCE: From what farm did my beef originate and how did it go from paddock to plate

LEGAL: Blockchain does not need honest brokers in the middle to manage trust

ACCOUNTING: Blockchain is a distributed ledger of transactions which is what accountants do

MAINTENANCE: Who did what and when to my bridge, ship, car, whatever.

MUSIC: Who created what and where is it now and who has used it

ART: As above

BANKS: The main job of a bank is keeping ledgers so we know who bought what - that what blockchain does but more securely and faster

PAYMENTS: Send money if you have money anywhere, any time, immediately, and low cost

MEDICAL: Your factual history online, unalterable, verifiable - no more doctor shopping

ELECTIONS: Verify who I am and let me vote once only and give the results at 1801

IDENTITY: Fraud will be impossible

HUMANITY and CHARACTER: Lying and stealing will become public knowledge

VERIFICATION: How much water was actually returned to the environment as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Rescue Plan

This is not exhaustive but just a taste. My personal favourites are ones that deal with using blockchain to turbo-charge cooperation at any scale and theoretically using every brain on the planet to focus on fixing a problem we have and then verifying progress.

That's what all the "coins" are about - each one is a project aimed at one of the topic areas above. All of this will become internet 2.0 and no-one will own it.
